In January of 2016 we decided to take a quick get away using a free timeshare week that was expiring. It was a dart on the map selection were we could get reasonable flights in the time frame we had open.

Our timeshare was on the far north end of town a 20 minute ride by Pulmonias (golf carts) that run at about 20 mph with no springs –  interesting on potholed roads. We found great restaurants and a quaint old town but for us a week was enough – been there done it – won’t be going back. Here’s what the guide books say….

Mazatlán is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. Sandy beaches line its 21km-long malecón (boardwalk), and its harbor is renowned for big-game fishing. In its historic center, 19th-century landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Ángela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception basilica. The modern district of Zona Dorada is known for its nightlife and high-rise hotels.
